Just a brief update on our progress:
It’s been a hectic March as we get all the fundamentals in place. As a living project, the long-term vision remains the same – to be THE portal for African Contemporary Photography.. Being based and networked in South Africa – it is obviously easier to chat to local photographers and we have commitment from our first batch of photographic artists and will start rolling their galleries out in the next week.
We are being pretty flexible at the moment regarding the commercial/royalty arrangement but we have one basic principle – the financial model has to work for both the photgraphic artist and apertoo. If we can’t get this right – the vision will just remain that – a vision which will become forgotten.
We have started to connect with continental (Ma Afrika) photographic artists on our Instagram account @apertooafrica and this together with Twitter will become our emans of news dissemination. Please follow us.

Technology Update
We have now decided on our technology platform – and although not perfect – we need to realise our human resource limitations and use technology which fits the fundamental requirement.
